National Penguin Day April 25th!

Tomorrow is National Penguin Day on April 25th 2014. I plan to decorate the house with penguin art and other stuff like blue paper chains. I'm going to use the color blue because it reminds me of penguins because they live near water. There is a penguin named Little Blue or Fairy Penguin because they are the smallest penguin. Penguin Art

We used foam paper and took a pencil and then we looked in a book about birds by Charley Harper called Birds and Words. Then we took some paint and painted on what we drew on the foam paper and took some pieces of paper and folded it. Then we printed the foam onto the piece of paper that was folded and then took the foam paper off and then you made penguin art!

My Two Penguins

The penguin on the left side is named Skidmark because a new movie called Turbo came out and there was a snail called Skidmark was on there and I really liked him. The penguin on the right side is named just Penguin. Because I just wanted to name him that.

My Penguin Blog

I wanted to create a blog about penguins because I really really like penguins. I like noises and the variety of penguins that there are. I am 7 years old. I have a pet lizard, one fish, and my sister has one too. I will be sharing my favorite books, art work, and other information about penguins here.

My Favorite Penguin Books

 I like Where is Home Little Pip? because I got it from the book fair at my school. It's so cute because it's about a little penguin that follows a feather and gets lost. Little Pip sings his mommy and poppy's song and they hear it and they end up finding her. Then Pip asks when are we going home? Mommy and Poppy said home is right here. This is a fiction book.

And Tango Makes Three is a book about two boy Chinstrap penguins that want an egg but they can't lay one. One day the zookeeper had an idea. He put an egg in their nest from another penguin that laid two eggs at a time. I like this book because it's cute because I really like penguins. This is a non-fiction book.

 Penguins by Gail Gibbons is fact book about penguins. I like this book because the illustrations are really good and it shows some of the enemies inside the book. I have this book at school too.
